Win a Family Ticket to Spilmans Pick-Your-Own Experience near Thirsk
Living North has joined forces with Spilmans to bring you a perfectly-picked competition this summer
The Pick-Your-Own attraction at Church Farm, near Thirsk, is offering three lucky readers a family day ticket each for four people, including a basket of fresh strawberries.
The 100-acre site at Church Farm in Sessay is open until Sunday 30th August for soft fruit and wildflower picking. With more than 65,000 strawberry plants of the Falco variety ready for picking over more than six kilometres, there’s plenty for visitors to choose from.
Tom Spilman, owner of family-run Spilmans says: ‘Falco strawberries are a superb variety. The plant produces large uniform berries that are juicy with a fresh bite. They’re absolutely delicious and the quintessential taste of a British summer.’
There is also a wide selection of other soft fruits, with two acres of raspberries, blackberries and gooseberries ready for visitors to pick and enjoy.
The Wildflower Meadow is adjacent to the strawberry fields and provides the perfect backdrop for photographers and content creators looking to capture that special social media moment over the summer.
Tom adds: ‘The rich multi colours of the blooms against the bright blue summer skies are a stunning background for some Instagrammable pics. We’ve had lots of families and couples visiting who’ve captured some great photos in the meadow.’
In addition to a delicious programme of rural entertainment there is also plenty of weather-proof fun at Spilmans in the indoor play barn featuring pedal tractors, ball pit and sand area, while outside there is the nature trail, outdoor adventure play and bouncing pillows. Hungry guests can head to the Stone Barn Café which serves brunches, lunch, wood-fired pizzas and hot and cold drinks.
