It's Christmaaaaaaaas (almost), and we're offering one lucky Living North reader the chance to win a pair of tickets to see Slade perform in Sheffield

With their unique blend of pop-rock’n'roll and outrageous flamboyance, as well as 23 top 20 singles (of which six were number one hits), Slade are a firm favourite across the world.

Slade first hit the road in 1966 and, joining forces with the former Animals bass guitarist and Jimi Hendrix Experience manager, Chas Chandler, the band achieved their first chart hit in May 1971 with Get Down and Get With It.

Throughout the ‘70s, Slade became one of Europe's biggest bands, at the beginning of the ‘80s, Slade were invited to appear at the Reading Rock Festival, and the early ‘90s saw the band’s solid 30-year chart run!

Led by founder member Dave Hill on lead guitar with John Berry (who joined in 2003), Slade is now made up of Russell Keefe on vocals and keyboards and Alex Bines on drums.

This year Slade are celebrating 50 years of Cum on Feel the Noize, and Merry Christmas Everybody reaching number one in 1973. Join the celebration when they stop by Sheffield this December.
