Last but not least, head to Battlesteads Dark Sky Observatory, where talks, activities, stargazing and Astro courses are held to suit anyone from the total beginner to the professional. On the edge of the Kielder Water & Forest Park, under the dark skies of the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, Battlesteads Observatory has been awarded Dark Sky Stay and Gaze status by Northumberland Tourism. Their fascinating events include stargazing, astrophotography and aurora hunting (understanding the Northern Lights). It’s a simply magical experience.
