Win the Ultimate Festive Day out at Life Science Centre
One lucky family can win a full day of festivities at Newcastle's Life Science Centre, complete with ice skating, huge moving dinosaurs, and planetarium shows that take your breath away
This is your chance to win a fun-filled family day out at Life Science Centre.
Skate on Newcastle’s outdoor ice rink
Newcastle’s festive season wouldn’t be complete without some time on the ice, and Life Science Centre’s much-loved outdoor ice rink returns to Times Square on Saturday 7th November 2026.
Set just outside Life Science Centre and surrounded by twinkling lights, the real-ice rink will run throughout the Christmas season, welcoming skaters of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re a confident skater or a beginner, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a bit of festive fun.
This prize included skating tickets for a family of five (including two adults), plus – Life is throwing in a £50 voucher for you to spend in the café or gift shop.
But that’s not all...
Science, Santa and giant moving dinosaurs!
The lucky winner will also receive five tickets to visit Life Science Centre, the perfect pre- (or post-) skating activity. Don’t want to use up all the fun on the same day? You’re welcome to use the tickets and voucher for another day!
From 7th November onwards, families can cosy up in the North’s biggest planetarium for Life’s award-winning 360 dome show, What Santa Sees, create unique festive trinkets from clay in the Making Studios, be a scientist in Experiment Zone (ages seven+) and much more.
Also included in your ticket is The Great Dinosaur Escape, an experience that takes you back to prehistoric times – there's a three-tonne T.rex, toothy Allosaurus and more than 20 other dino pals that move and roar! Use the interactive trail to become a Dino Ranger!
It’s the perfect festive day out for the whole family, you won’t find anything else like it!
Not the lucky winner? You can get 20 percent off tickets throughout November, just use code LNSKATE for the ice rink, or code LNDINO for the science centre. Both codes are for online use only, and terms and conditions apply.
