Here in the restaurant and orangery, tasty dishes are served with excellent quality produce. Off the beaten track, this charming country pub is a must-visit for Yorkshire foodies. The flavoursome, imaginative dishes include pan-roast breast of Yorkshire chicken, Holme Farm venison and BBQ monkfish tail. On warmer days, their beer garden is a popular spot for enjoying Ploughman’s and a pint or lobster and champagne – just remember to book in advance.

In Great Ouseburn, between the Yorkshire Dales and Moors, The Lime Tree Inn is a family-run country pub serving seriously good food in relaxed and friendly surroundings. A brand new pub, it opened its door for the first time in September 2020, and is a gem yet to be discovered by many. The kitchen is led by Rob, a dedicated chef who by the age of 21 was running a Michelin-starred restaurant in London. He prides himself on making everything in house and only using great local produce. The menu is seasonal and is constantly evolving depending on what is available on the market, as well as from their own allotment. The Lime Tree Inn is slowly building a reputation and growing by word of mouth – you won’t want to miss out.

Owned and run by Tommy Banks and his family, who have lived and farmed around Oldstead for generations; Michelin-starred, 4 AA Rosette restaurant The Black Swan needs little introduction. They offer just one tasting menu which is inspired by the ingredients that they grow and forage in and around Oldstead. It’s a food experience that’s hard to beat.

This cosy inn just outside Harrogate is renowned for its fabulous restaurant and serves seasonal dishes. The GT’s bar and restaurant have everything you’d expect from a traditional country pub – food and drink in cosy surrounds (and small dogs are welcome in the bar). In Ralph’s, sustainable fine-dining is showcased in bespoke tasting menus and optional wine pairings hand-selected by their in-house sommelier. If you’re celebrating, head to The Attic – their premier private dining suite which seats up to 25 guests, and offers a menu hand-crafted by Executive Chef Chris McPhee.

It shouldn’t come as any surprise that this specialist steak restaurant takes its meat very seriously. It serves only the finest Himalayan salt dry-aged steaks, Wagyu and other great local meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. If you feel like a meaty treat, try its ultimate wagyu carnivore board, which comes complete with sirloin, ribeye, fillet, rump, black pudding croquettes, half a lobster, four sides and two sauces.
