At Living North LIVE, we're proud of hosting some of the North East's most talented artists

Here are just a few favourites you'll see while you're there.
Amy Rutherford

Amy is a studio potter based near Newcastle and has more than a decade of ceramic experience. She works with stoneware and porcelain to create wheel-thrown pieces using traditional glazes, including wax melters, mugs and soap dishes. You can get involved in her workshops at Elvet & Bailey in Durham and at Recreate Today in Whitley Bay. Wax Melter, £25

From their home on Fieldhouse Lane in Durham, Kathy and Martin sell unique stoneware pottery with bespoke glazes for everyday use. The themes of their designs range from iconic Durham landmarks to wild swimming, and their unique mugs would be a great addition to your kitchen. Katherine is a creator from Newcastle who lives by the sea and is inspired by nature. She handmakes wire flowers and displays them in a number of ways – some in frames and others in glass bottles. Each flower is made with black coated copper wire, twisted and knotted, and the stems are then sealed into the glass using a small amount of clear resin. Newcastle-based Haf & Co was established in 2018 to promote the importance of our ocean ecosystem. They sell cute animal prints (think puffins, orcas and turtles) on mugs, bottles, bags, calendars and cards. Lauren’s colourful illustrations are largely influenced by the County Durham and Northumberland countryside. She produces greetings cards, pet portraits, personalised prints and bespoke stationery, and many of her cards are printed on paper packed with wildflower seeds so you can plant them after use. Kyle Bevan is a Newcastle-based, nature-inspired artist (and also the co-founder of The Naked Baking Company). His Instagram feed is a tidal wave of seascapes displaying his ocean-inspired coasters, candle boards and trinket dishes made with resin. Rhianne Johnson set up her own illustration and surface pattern design business, taking inspiration from the architecture, wildlife and landscapes around her. She graduated in 2017 with a First Class Honours Degree in Textiles and Surface Design and launched her business in 2018. North Shields artist Robert has a background in computer graphics but he’s always enjoyed painting.
