The Best Places to Visit For Teesside Restaurant Week
Dine out at a discount as Teesside Restaurant Week returns from 8th–11th February
For contemporary Asian food head to Banh Mi in Norton where you can choose three courses for £20. Serving traditional and locally sourced pan-Asian cuisine, start your feast with a classic Tom Yum homemade hot and sour broth, followed by Char Sui belly pork before finishing with the peanut butter parfait with dark rum caramel sauce.
The Cleveland Tontine
Dine in style at The Cleveland Tontine, whose beautiful Grade I-listed ceiling and huge open fire create the perfect place to relax and enjoy the fantastic food on offer. From 9th–11th February, they are offering show-stopping dishes as part of restaurant week, including curried cauliflower soup and Quattro formaggi soufflé for starters, as well as sea bream, herb gnocchi and herb-crumbed Wolds chicken for main. If you can manage a dessert we recommend the warm treacle tart with caramelised orange and clotted cream ice cream.
At the foot of the North Yorkshire Moors, G&Tea serves fantastic food alongside its breathtaking views. Choose a starter, any five tapas plates and a dessert for just £20 this restaurant week. We love the sound of the prawns pil pil with chilli and garlic sauce, as well as the deep fried brie. Finish with an indulgent chocolate brownie sundae or a lemon cheesecake and ice cream.
The Scruffy Duck
One of Norton’s favourite pubs, The Scruffy Duck, is also taking part in Teesside Restaurant Week offering three courses for just £20, and this venue has even added an extra day (Monday 7th) to cope with demand. Starters include ham hock croquette, walnut tofu on salad, confit chicken and leek terrine or fish fingers on toast. For mains, the smoked haddock with wilted baby spinach would be our choice.
In the heart of Linthorpe Village, The Copperstone offers some of the best Thai and pan-Asian food on Teesside. Expect dishes such as traditional satay chicken skewers, Thai green and red curries, as well as pad Thai noodles and Korean barbecue chicken. The offer during restaurant week is three courses for £15 so make sure to book early.
The Impeccable Pig
From roast honey spiced Szechuan pheasant breast to pan-fried coley fillet and red wine and shallot braised wagyu mince, Sedgefield favourite The Impeccable Pig is a great choice for restaurant week. It’s rightly popular amongst locals so secure your table early so you don’t miss out on their offer of three courses for £20.
