High above Newcastle, WYLD is setting the scene for a festive season of indulgent dining, celebrations and late-night entertainment, with sweeping views across the city providing the backdrop

Whether planning a Christmas get-together or looking for somewhere special to welcome the new year, the new live-fire restaurant, cocktail bar and stage offers offers a stylish setting for celebrating in the heart of the city.

From 19th November to 24th December, WYLD’s Christmas menu puts a refined spin on festive favourites, with a generous family-style feast designed for sharing around the table. Priced at £39 per person, the menu brings together seasonal ingredients and comforting classics, making it an ideal choice for gathering friends, family or colleagues over the festive period.

The feast begins with a selection of starters, including chicken liver pâté with preserved cherries and toasted brioche, soy and whiskey-cured salmon with smoked pickles and cream cheese, and burrata with black truffle and Tuscan olive oil. For the main event, guests can tuck into bronze turkey with sausage stuffing and gravy, braised beef shin with smoked bacon, chestnut mushrooms and pickled onions, or salt-baked cod with tarragon beurre blanc. A gnocchi Parisienne with Comté and Vin Jaune also features.

Traditional festive sides complete the spread, from roast potatoes and Brussels sprouts to honey-glazed carrots and parsnips and braised red cabbage. For something sweet, there is a choice of sticky toffee pudding, pear and almond tart with crème fraîche, or chocolate mousse with preserved cherries and hazelnuts. Guests can also add a selection of artisan cheeses and quince for an additional £8 per person.

As December draws to a close, attention turns to New Year’s Eve, when WYLD will host an evening of glamour, exceptional food and entertainment high above the city. With Newcastle’s lights twinkling below, the celebrations promise a lively atmosphere, live performances and DJs throughout the night – an occasion to dress up, raise a glass and see out the year in style.

Priced at £70 per person, the New Year’s Eve menu is an indulgent affair, beginning with Lindisfarne oysters and Vin Jaune, alongside focaccia and cultured butter. This is followed by olive-fed Wagyu beef carpaccio with Parmesan and black truffle, before a centrepiece of suckling pig stuffed with smoked sausage and pruneaux à l’Armagnac, served with potato dauphinoise. A lemon sorbet with Champagne and absinthe provides a refreshing finish.

A dedicated vegetarian menu is also available, featuring fried oyster mushroom and Vin Jaune, focaccia and cultured butter, grilled and marinated vegetables with Pont d’Yeu, and pumpkin agnolotti with brown butter and black truffle.

For those booking the New Year’s Eve dinner, the celebration does not end when the meal does. Guests will have their table for the entire evening, allowing them to settle in and enjoy the entertainment as midnight approaches. Bar tables are also available to book, with a 1.5-hour reservation period.

With its elevated setting, city views, curated menus and entertainment running throughout the night, WYLD offers a fitting backdrop to both the festive season and the final celebrations of the year.
