Living North's Christmas Fair is back at Newcastle Racecourse from 26th-29th October and we can't wait to welcome you into our food halls

To give you some food for thought, here's a sneak peek at just some of the fabulous foodies you'll meet.
Burtree Puddings

Burtree Puddings
The proof really is in the pudding, as this family-run award-winning business have more than 15 years of experience creating deliciously indulgent sweet treats. Each recipe is made by hand in small batches in Robert and Lea Darling’s farmhouse kitchen in Darlington. We recommend the scrumptious rich toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and a sprinkling of pecans on top – and be sure to look out for their gluten-free options.

The Gift of Oil 
Creating a brilliant range of artisan oils and balsamics, The Gift of Oil have been improving even the simplest of meals since 2001. Specialising in perfect pairings and flavour infusions, their  exceptional oils and balsamics are made for drizzling, splashing or stirring. Our favourite is the rosemary and garlic oil paired with caramelised onion balsamic – it’s delicious over lamb!

Hygge Hot Chocolate 
Tired of being let down at the first sip of other hot chocolates, the team behind Hygge decided to create their own. With a combination of 40 years in the food manufacturing industry, the team pride themselves on being super foodies, with a passion for wellbeing. Pick up your comforting hot chocolate at our Christmas Fair for some delicious warmth this winter.

Durham Coffee

Durham Coffee
This father-daughter roasting duo have a passion for ethically-sourced quality coffee. Bringing their range of coffee beans, bags and speciality equipment to our Christmas Fair, ask the team for advice on how to make the perfect brew. Look out for The Dun Cow coffee blend which has hints of dark chocolate and cereal – it’s perfect for your first cup of the day.

L of a Bake
Cookies, cakes, s’mores and tray bakes, you name it, Lindsey makes it. Based in Blyth, L of a Bake use all natural ingredients including local eggs, British butter and stoneground flour to create their decadent sweet treats. As well as delivering throughout the UK, you’ll find Lindsey at food markets across the region – look out for her stacks of brownies and piles of cookies in our food halls.

Calder’s Kitchen
This family business create hand-made artisan piccalilli and chutney based on Grandad Charlie’s family recipe. Perfect for sandwiches, burgers or with sharing platters, their piccalilli is vibrant and full of flavour. Keep an eye out for their Chillililli, an adaptation of the traditional recipe with a delicious sweet chilli kick.

Flapjackery

Flapjackery 
Using only the best British oats, real butter and wholesome ingredients, Flapjackery pride themselves on their award-winning gluten-free flapjacks. Their flapjack flavours go beyond the traditional and new ones include cherry Bakewell, caramel latte and salted caramel brownie. Looking to treat someone this Christmas? Order one of their delicious boxes which will be delivered straight to the door.

Geordie Bangers
These local sausages are top notch and are inspired by traditional family recipes which have been passed down through generations. Geordie Bangers’ speciality sausages reference local flavours such as Brown Ale, whereas their core range includes pork with black pudding, sage and onion with apple, and pork with crushed jalapeños.

The Gourmet Scotch Egg Co. 
Fill your boots with handmade luxury, free-range Scotch eggs from The Gourmet Scotch Egg Co. Using award-winning free-range pork, quality free-range eggs and special homemade breadcrumbs, the team boil the Scotch eggs for just the right amount of time to get that soft and jammy yolk. From pork and black pudding to plain and traditional, make sure to stop by their stand.

The Travelling Bee Company

The Travelling Bee Company 
Believing that happy bees make the best honey, the team at The Travelling Bee Company bundle their bees into bee-mobiles, taking them across the North East and Scotland so they have access to the wildest variety of flowers and trees every season. Their award-winning range includes organic, soft-set honey and honey with walnuts, as well as wild flower honey with honeycomb.

The Sawley Kitchen
This family-run, award-winning biscuit bakehouse specialise in hand-crafted artisan goodies. Baked the traditional way and using family recipes, the small team of skilled bakers create both sweet and savoury delights – think giant meringues, classic and flavoured shortbread, fruit and chocolate biscuits, and savoury crackers which are perfect for your Christmas cheese board.

Spicymonkey
Spicymonkey create a delicious range of unique, home-cooked curry sauces, spices, pickles and chutneys which are easy to use, yet add a whole new flavour to your food. Influenced by their travels around Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, the team have developed their own original recipes, so look out for their range which includes everything from mild Malaysian curry to hot Goan curry sauce.
