Discover Summer at The Biscuit Factory
Set in the heart of Newcastle's creative Ouseburn quarter, The Biscuit Factory is one of the North East's most distinctive cultural destinations
This summer, The Biscuit Factory presents A Fleeting Presence, a new exhibition by Emerson Mayes that brings together the quiet practice of landscape painting with wildlife printmaking. You’re invited to celebrate the launch of the Summer exhibition at their Golden Hour Summer Party on Friday 10th July from 7–9pm.
If you’re looking for somewhere to visit with the family, The Biscuit Factory is taking part in the city-wide Peter Rabbit: Tales on the Tyne art trail by St Oswald’s Hospice. From 14th July–14th September, three decorated rabbits will be hidden throughout the gallery, alongside free family activities, creative workshops, a Summer Garden Tea and a Peter Rabbit-inspired children’s menu, making it an ideal day out during the school holidays.
With a seasonal line-up of exhibitions, workshops, family activities and rooftop dining, all under one roof, summer is one of the best times to visit The Biscuit Factory. Visitors can browse the gallery before settling in on the rooftop terrace, where brunch, lunch, coffee and cocktails are served alongside sweeping views across the Ouseburn Valley. Inside, The Factory Kitchen offers relaxed dining with seasonal menus and, on the last Sunday of each month, a special Afternoon Tea experience. Throughout June, July and August guests can enjoy a Summer Garden Tea inspired by Peter Rabbit: Tales on the Tyne, featuring fresh seasonal flavours with a playful nod to Mr McGregor’s garden.
For those looking to get creative themselves, The Biscuit Factory also hosts a programme of artist-led workshops throughout the summer. Highlights include Brush Calligraphy with Another Loop on Sunday 26th July, where beginners can learn the art of modern brush lettering with hands-on guidance.
Whether you’re discovering a new artist, enjoying lunch on the terrace or planning a family day out in Ouseburn, there’s plenty to experience at The Biscuit Factory this summer.
