Here's where foodies need to know this month.
Federal Café Federal Café

Federal Café

5 Coney Street, York, YO1 9QL
Manchester-born Federal Café and Bar is making its debut on York’s Coney Street this autumn, bringing its signature blend of speciality coffee and laid-back Australian-style hospitality, inspired by the café culture of Melbourne and Sydney, to the city centre, so keep an eye out.

Calluna

Saltmoore, Sandsend Road, Whitby YO21 3ST
Saltmoore’s fine-dining restaurant Calluna is opening in mid-October, under the watchful eye of executive chef Adam Maddock. Named after the heather that blankets the surrounding moorland, and with just 24 covers each evening, Calluna will offer an intimate tasting menu experience inspired by the landscape surrounding the estate, from the Yorkshire coast and kitchen garden to the wild beauty of the North York Moors.

Unit 84, Willows Court, Teesside Industrial Estate, Thornaby-on-Tees TS17 9PP
Rounton Coffee has found a new home at Teesside Industrial Estate in Thornaby, where hessian sacks of beans imported from some of the most fascinating hotspots in the coffee belt are stacked high. Their bold flavours are just one reason seven of Rounton’s impressive range secured a Great Taste Award this year.
