This Christmas, families are invited to a truly enchanting festive experience as Carrot Productions - the world's leading performers of The Snowman with live orchestra - bring their Christmas show to the big screen in the North East and Yorkshire
The new film will be presented in tandem with Prokofiev’s classic score, re-shaped for the occasion by Carrot’s long-time arranger and composer Daniel Whibley (CBeebies Musical Storyland). Together with The Snowman, it’s a festive double bill destined to capture the hearts of audiences of all ages.
With a fun, festive medley to open the show – and a special visit from The Snowman himself – this magical show is perfect for the whole family to enjoy!
The performance features a professional orchestra, with musicians drawn from the Hallé, BBC Philharmonic, Manchester Camerata, BBC Concert Orchestra and more. Young soloists local to each venue will also take the stage to perform Walking in the Air, giving children a rare opportunity to sing alongside professional musicians; an experience many have described as life-changing.
The festive spirit continues right up to the finale, with audiences invited to join Classic FM’s Big Christmas Chorus, singing Walking in the Air alongside the orchestra to help raise funds for Global’s Make Some Noise charity.
