Roll up, roll up, South Shields's The Customs House has been transformed into a circus for panto season

Here's why you won't want to miss Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

This year The Customs House is a big top, and we join the fight to save a beloved circus, and find out what happens when Goldilocks meets three bears.

Whilst Ray Spencer may have stepped back from directing, we’re thrilled he returned as Dame Bella for this pantomime. He plays such a funny character and had us all laughing, and up dancing along to Nelly the Elephant. There’s great audience interaction throughout this fun-filled show.

Northern talent Zoe Allan plays a brilliant Goldilocks, Mammy Bear (Jess Brady) has a fantastic singing voice, and my son’s favourite character was Baby Bear (who will be played by various talented youngsters as this production goes on).

As you might expect from this playful, circus-themed twist on the classic tale, there are magic tricks too! Alfie Joey’s set and costume designs are fabulous and this is a fantastic festive experience the whole family will love. We certainly did!

Goldilocks and the Three Bears plays at The Customs House until Saturday 3rd January 2026.
