Cedar Lodge's palette of natural wood and stone, bright white walls and huge windows deliver a slice of Scandi-style minimalism in West Yorkshire

We take a peek inside.

The exterior of Cedar Lodge is almost entirely clad in wooden panels, and its front is primarily taken up with huge panes of glass. The front door is to the side of the house, opposite the detached double garage. The entrance hall leads to a utility room with a sink and space for a washing machine, a downstairs shower room, and the kitchen dining space.

The kitchen cabinets are a neutral grey to complement the stone floors and a simple white countertop stretches almost the full length of the rear wall. However, the real focal point of the kitchen is the row of picture windows framing views across fields and toward Woodsome.

The lower level of the first floor is primarily taken up by a huge, open-plan living room. This has a wood burner in the corner, and faces on to picture windows and bi-fold doors which lead on to a large balcony overlooking the hillside. The balcony is more than big enough for al fresco entertaining in summer. Tucked into the corner of the first floor is a small but – courtesy of another picture window – bright study, a home office with panelled walls, and an ensuite bedroom.

A small set of steps lead up from the main living area to a mezzanine library with a door leading to the garden on one side. There are two more double-bedrooms on this level as well as a family bathroom. One bedroom is an ensuite, and has its own set of bi-fold doors leading onto the garden’s patio area. From here, gravelled steps have been cut into the hillside to take you past log storage created within the stilt-like supports of the first floor and round to the front of the house.

The main lawn begins behind the house, where the current owners have managed to install a sunken trampoline for children, and curves round to the front driveway.
