The New Dairy is a charming two-bedroom holiday cottage with views of Bamburgh Castle
This cosy single-storey cottage is only a mile away from the beautiful coastal town of Bamburgh and has views of its iconic castle. Its scenic location is part of a development of multiple holiday homes on the site of the old Glororum Farm buildings, and its stone exterior has been carefully designed to create the impression of a polished barn conversion.
Having made your way through the tiled hallway, you’ll see the impressive vaulted ceiling and exposed beams of the living space. Here, the open-plan design combines kitchen, dining and living room into one. The room achieves a cosy rather than cramped ambience thanks, in part, to large French doors that allow light to flood in and work in tandem with the high ceilings to amplify the room’s proportions. The sofa area centres around a contemporary gas fireplace embedded into the wall – the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the great outdoors.
A separate utility room is behind the kitchen with its own exterior doorway, so muddy shoes and wet coats can easily be dealt with.
There are two bedrooms, one king size and one single. The master bedroom includes a large fitted wardrobe and has been decorated in warm hues of aubergine and seashell wallpaper, a nod to the property’s coastal location. Similarly, the single room has been perfectly appointed in a blue nautical theme for children. Both rooms share the large, fully tiled family bathroom which includes a walk-in shower, large bath tub and heated towel rail.
Outside, the large enclosed yard has space for two vehicles. It also boasts a perfect manicured lawn area, and an al fresco dining space for holiday breakfasts in the sunshine.
