Anyone for another round? Swap the surf for turf with these six golf courses in the North East and Yorkshire, including Bamburgh, Filey and more

Enjoy stunning sea views from the best fairways in the North East and Yorkshire. These courses are often overlooked in comparison to others in the country, meaning they’re often easier to book and better value for money, while still offering exceptional golfing challenges to test your skill, and, of course, beautiful scenery to boot.

A true links course near the Scottish Borders, Goswick is ranked among the top 50 courses in England. Weaving its way through the windswept dunes along a vast expanse of stunning coastline, you’ll have views of Holy Island and Bamburgh to accompany you. It’s an Open qualifying venue for 2022 and will certainly give you a round to remember.

Bamburgh Castle Golf Club
Often hailed as one of the most scenic courses in the country, Bamburgh’s excellent links experience is rivalled only by the views of Lindisfarne, the Farne Islands and the Cheviots. Although it’s a relatively short course by today’s standards, it’s a gem not to be missed.

Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club
Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and in the shadow of the castle which sits proudly above the 13th green, this is a traditional links course. Designed by Open Championship winner and renowned course architect James Braid, golfers have to judge an ever-changing wind direction as the course curves around the stunning bay.
