With fruit picking season almost over, summer brings the joys of beautiful blooms

Here's where to pick your own stunning wildflowers across Yorkshire.

In the land surrounding the stunning 12th-century Gisborough Priory, third-generation growers plant and care for seasonal flowers and host pick-your-own sessions so you can get your hands on these beautiful blooms. Remember to book in advance to pick flowers until the end of September.

The Flower Belt

As a third-generation family-run farm, The Flower Belt are passionate about growing beautiful seasonal flowers. Known for their fabulous flowers in Helmsley, you can now create your own bespoke flower arrangement at their new site in Harrogate too, and take in the beautiful wildflowers until September.

Kemps Farm

Kemps host pick-your-own experiences at their farms in Horsforth and Barton-le-Street and with strawberry season in full swing, families are flocking to the farms. The wildflower field in Horsforth is now in full bloom (and a bunch of wildflowers is included with every ticket) and the sunflower fields at both sites are coming into season.

Haxby Flower Meadow

There are rows upon rows of wildflowers at Haxby Flower Meadow, and they have all the supplies you need to pick and gather a bouquet. Once you’ve picked your favourites, you can enjoy refreshments whilst they wrap them up for you to take home. Keep an eye on their website for opening times.

The Flower Field have 33 different varieties of wildflower that are in full bloom and available to pick until September. Pick your favourites and they’ll wrap them for you to take home. There are sunflowers too, and dogs are welcome on leads.

The Hidden Flowering Farm

This is a hidden gem in Knaresborough where you can pick your own flowers from their beautiful wildflower display (with 60 varieties of cut flowers to choose from, including sunflowers). To make your visit extra special, you can book family photoshoot sessions too.

Dunnington Flower Field

New this year is Dunnington Flower Field where visitors can cut their own flowers from the wildflower fields, enjoy a break at the café, and have their pick of the bunch wrapped, ready to be taken home.

Eastfield Farm

Whilst strawberry picking is now over, Eastfield Farm remains open for wildflower and sunflower picking, with endless photo opportunities. Sunflowers are priced at just £1 per stem, and there’s a coffee shop and fruit and veg stall too. Don’t forget your cutters.

The 100-acre site at Church Farm in Sessay is open until Sunday 30th August for soft fruit and wildflower picking. The Wildflower Meadow is adjacent to the strawberry fields and provides the perfect backdrop for photos to remember your visit.
