Win a Copy of New Historical Fiction Book For Lord and Liege
To celebrate the release of For Lord and Liege this October, we're offering three lucky Living North readers the chance to win a copy
This new medieval adventure thriller is the second instalment of the Northumbria Trilogy by historical-fiction author Birgit Constant.
The series is set in northern England in the second half of the 11th century and follows three youths as they come of age in a country torn by war, rebellion and betrayal.
In Book Two, we join 16-year-old Roger, who should be heir after his brother’s death, yet his father considers him unfit. Desperate to prove himself, Roger turns to Gwennaol, a girl with a dangerous secret. But trust is perilous, and Roger’s struggle for recognition soon spirals into a fight for survival.
Birgit Constant writes historical fiction for language enthusiasts and is particularly interested in hidden histories. She loves to combine lesser-known people and places, unusual perspectives on (in-)famous events and people, and a generous helping of old languages.
