A towering Gothic minster, a pretty market square and a town steeped in history - Beverley has something for everyone

Here's what not to miss when you next visit.
Michelin food at The Pipe and Glass Inn The Pipe and Glass Inn

Indulge in an award-winning breakfast at Vanessa Delicatessen and Café, pick up a delicious sweet treat from 42nd East Bakehouse, or stop by Atom Bar for a refreshing pint. Find delicious tapas and cocktails at Central 42, Roku Asia (formerly Ogino) is the place to book for delicious pan-Asian food, or head to popular restaurant Lucia for pizza. In the evening, the tasting menus at Whites come Michelin recommended, as does the modern British menu at The Westwood. For something extra special, Michelin-starred The Pipe and Glass Inn is just a 10-minute drive from Beverley town centre. Finally, for a taste of local history, grab a pint and find a corner under the original gas lights at The White Horse Inn (affectionately known to locals as Nellies).

The Beverley Arms is a characterful 18th century coaching inn and has a good restaurant too, Beverley Minster House is a five-star self-catered town house and Newbegin House is a five star B&B with award-winning breakfasts.  A little further out of town, Molehill Cottage is the perfect holiday home for couples wanting their own space. For a taste of luxury you’ll want to book Tickton Grange Hotel. Set with 16 acres of garden and meadowland, the hotel boasts 21 bedrooms, an elegant restaurant and their afternoon tea is always a winner.

There are plenty of high street favourites in the town but Beverley’s busy Saturday Market is home to a vibrant mix of artisan stalls with a mixture of regular and alternating vendors including handcrafted jewellery from Hollie Tree Silver, fresh bread from The Artisan at Home, woodwork from The Viking Workshop and quality plants from Ashkeys Growers. Head to Aura for gorgeous womenswear, and Daniella Draper for stunning British-made jewellery. Pooch boutique Oh my Dog offers great gifts for your four-legged friend and you’ll find beautiful Scandi homewares at The Pamperhouse. If you’re looking to be eco-conscious with your shopping, The Refill Jar is on hand to help you stock up on plastic-free essentials, Browns of Beverley department store is great for fashion and cosmetics and Poma is where to find artisan gelato.
