One of the greatest tales of espionage ever written comes to Newcastle Theatre Royal in a major new stage adaptation

For the first time, John le Carré's seminal Cold War masterpiece The Spy Who Came In From The Cold has been brought to the stage, following a sold-out run at Chichester Festival Theatre and a critically acclaimed West End season.

Starring Ralf Little (Death in Paradise, The Royle Family), this gripping drama follows weary British intelligence officer Alec Leamas, who is persuaded to undertake one final mission across the Iron Curtain.

As loyalties shift and motives become increasingly uncertain, Leamas finds himself drawn into a world of deception, moral compromise and personal sacrifice.

Adapted by acclaimed playwright David Eldridge and directed by Jeremy Herrin, this elegant and intelligent production captures all the intrigue, atmosphere and psychological complexity that made the novel a defining work of 20th-century fiction.

A compelling evening of theatre for lovers of classic literature, political drama and masterful storytelling.

The Spy Who Came in from the Cold is at Newcastle Theatre Royal from Tuesday 7th–Saturday 11th July. Book your tickets here, or call 0191 232 7010.
