Most people know Middlesbrough Town Hall for its gigs, but the venue plays host to a wide range of performances, from music and comedy to family favourites and theatre

You won't want to miss what's on offer this summer!

Open-air theatre is back in the Town Hall’s Courtyard with three fantastic productions. The Pantaloons are offering their riotous take on much-loved classics with performances of The Importance of Being Earnest and a family-friendly Robin Hood. Dad’s Army meets The Vicar of Dibley in Into The Breach, an original comedy set in the Second World War.

Families will also love Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book, adapted from the much-loved children’s book and brought to life with live action, puppetry and enchanting songs!

Do you believe in magic? You will after Pete Firman’s and Cillian O’Connor’s shows! Boro lad, Pete, is bringing his trademarked brand of comedy magic to the Town Hall, promising jaw-dropping magic and laugh-out-loud comedy. Cillian stole the nation’s hearts in Britain’s Got Talent, and now he’s on tour with an enchanting family magic show.

The Smyths | Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book

Speaking of comedy, Ed Byrne is back on tour with Tragedy Plus Time. Come and join Ed as he mines the most tragic event in his life for laughs!

Staying true to their musical roots, they also have some brilliant gigs and performances coming up. Finn Forster’s star is well and truly on the rise, and he’ll be launching The Grey Skies EP with a live acoustic performance and a Q&A session hosted by BBC Introducing North East host Shakk.

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the release of THE SMITHS, The Smyths are back on tour revisiting songs from the album and performing The Smiths’ biggest hits. See them at the Town Hall in June!

They continue the celebration of musical greats with Fleetwood Mac by Candlelight and The Darkside of Pink Floyd – both breathtaking shows featuring much-loved classics.

For those who prefer to be on stage themselves, they have you covered with a variety of ways to get involved, from performing arts groups and performance opportunities for primary and secondary ages to their brilliant community choir.

You can also hire the Town Hall, with a variety of stunning rooms suitable for meetings, conferences, weddings and other events. From the eerie Old Police Cells to The Courtroom with original graffiti, the rooms offer the perfect combination of modern facilities and original Victorian features that you can’t find anywhere else in the Tees Valley.
