Beauty Procedures That Promise You Better Looking Skin
Health and beauty
January 2022
Reading time 4 Minutes

Blame Zoom, or perhaps the stress of the last 18 months, or just the continual upgrading of beauty treatments and tweakments, but the demand for non-surgical facial treatments has risen rapidly recently

Here are the best procedures that promise you a better looking start to 2022.

Morpheus8

What is it? A facial treatment which helps address the signs of ageing by helping to re-contour and remodel the face (and body). Your skin changes as you age, with the appearance of wrinkles, a loss of elasticity and texture changes becoming sadly unavoidable. In the past, to reverse these inevitable signs of ageing you would have turned to invasive and costly procedures, often with a long recovery, to see any improvement. With Morpheus8, a natural, non-surgical anti-ageing treatment, you can actually see visible results in just a few days, leading to more radiant skin and a tighter, more youthful appearance.
How does it work? Morpheus8 combines RF (radio frequency) energy with microneedling for fast and effective results. The radio frequency energy, delivered through tiny needle-like pins, is able to reach and heat deeper layers of skin and tissue to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin for tighter, smoother skin.
Is there any downtime? There is no required downtime after treatment with Morpheus8. A topical aesthetic is applied to the treatment area, and some redness and mild swelling can be expected for between one and five days post-treatment, but you can return to regular daily activities right away. Patients are advised to moisturise the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a good, broad-spectrum sunscreen every day.
How many treatments are required? Results can be seen as quickly as after one treatment although a series of at least two to three treatments, conducted one month apart, is recommended for maximum results.
How much will it cost? Cost varies with the area to be treated. A Full Face Resurfacing (excluding the neck) is £400 per treatment, or £1,100 for a course of three.

Smile Makeover

What is it? Powerful and effective cosmetic dentistry to create straighter, whiter and restored teeth for an all-out transformation of your smile.
How does it work? A pre-treatment consultation with experts means you can discuss all the treatments available and discover just what can be done to ensure you have the perfect smile. These include targeting bite problems, gaps and crowding with invisible invisalign aligners, treating gaps, cracks and chips with composite bonding, and high-tech advanced whitening to brighten dark or stained teeth. All treatments can be complemented with a range of facial aesthetics including treating thin lips or too-gummy smiles with a range of fillers to give you complete confidence.
Is there any downtime? This may depend on your treatment plan, but usually there is no downtime needed post-treatment.
How many treatments are required? The treatments which make up your plan will dictate how many are required for each aspect of the plan.
How much will it cost? Again this is dependent on what treatments are required to ensure you get the perfect smile. Packages and finance are available to help you budget.

PRP Treatment

What is it? PRP has been used for over 30 years in medical fields such as dentistry, oral surgery and orthopaedics. A 100 percent natural procedure, it is recommended to patients who prefer a more natural approach to anti-ageing treatments, as it uses the body’s own cells (blood plasma) rather than a synthetic substance such as dermal fillers.
How does it work? PRP involves taking a small sample of blood from the arm as if you were having a blood test, spinning it in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the plasma, and injecting the gellike plasma back into the skin to stimulate collagen production. This platelet-rich plasma contains natural growth factors which stimulate cells to promote collagen and tissue growth, refreshing the skin and giving it a firmer, more youthful appearance.
Is there any downtime? No. Normal to light activities can be resumed immediately afterwards.
How many treatments are required? A course of treatments is recommended.
How much will it cost? PRP is £250 per treatment.

IPL Redness Removal

What is it? An intense pulse light treatment (IPL) which works to dramatically improve the appearance of noticeable facial thread veins and rosacea. The treatment works best on fair or untanned skin.
How does it work? A small light applicator is placed on the skin and a quick pulse of light is released. The light energy is transmitted through the skin to target the red blood vessels which absorb the energy and become heated to a point where they are damaged. The damaged blood vessels can then easily be reabsorbed by the body and will gradually disappear.
Is there any downtime? The treatment can be uncomfortable but no anaesthetic is needed and there is no real downtime post-treatment.
How many treatments are required? For best results a course of treatments is recommended.
How much will it cost? Treatments from £50.

SmartMeso Therapy

What is it? SmartMeso is a noninvasive breakthrough in transdermal technology, delivering vitamins and nutrient deep into the skin for faster, better results.
What does it do? Skin is rejuvenated, hydrated and immediately looks healthier, firmer, smoother and more youthful.
How does it work? A sterile SmartMeso Microtip, with 25 hollow needles, creates tiny, individual pathways through the skin’s surface. A vitamin-enriched serum is then delivered through these microchannels, deep into the skin where they actively create cellular change. By introducing a tiny micro-current, which increases the permeability of the cell membrane, the serum is absorbed much deeper in to the skin.
Is there any downtime? No, apart from an immediate and slight reddening of the skin which calms within minutes of the treatment.
How many treatments arerequired? A course of six treatments is recommended for best results.
How much will it cost? From £55.
