All our prayers have been answered. This brand new production of the Broadway and UK smash hit musical Sister Act comes direct from London. Starring West End legend Lesley Joseph, Hairspray favourite Lizzie Be and Emmerdale and Waitress star Sandra Marvin, it has a star-studded cast. Deloris’ life turns upside down when she witnesses a murder and she’s placed under protective custody in a convent. Encouraged to support the struggling choir there, she helps her fellow sisters find their true voices, and in doing so, she rediscovers her own.
American singer-songwriter (and chef) Kelis is hoping her Milkshake (and all her other popular tracks) brings all the boys (and girls) to Sage Gateshead this summer. She studied as a saucier at Le Cordon Bleu, but has also been recognised by the Brit Awards, Q Awards, NME Awards, and Grammy Awards for her music. Don’t miss this chance to see her perform live in one of the best state-of-the-art cultural venues in the North East.
HEATHERS THE MUSICAL
Based on the popular 1988 film, Heathers The Musical has embarked on a national tour, and you won’t want to miss the show when it comes to York. Veronica Sawyer is just another nobody until she becomes a part of a popular clique. Rebel JD teaches her that it might kill to be a nobody, but killing could make her a somebody.
Playhouse Whitley Bay
Since finding fame in 2004 on the first series of The X Factor, G4 have been impressing audiences with their trademark vocal harmonies. Now they’re back on the road performing in towns and cities, some for the first time. Their setlist promises classic hits such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Creep, My Way and Circle of Life.
