There's no end of great places to eat in Yorkshire and here we share some of our favouirte new additions

Black Wheat Club
A welcome addition to Fossgate’s thriving food scene, what began as a popular spot for Polish-influenced brunch options has now expanded to include an evening dinner service. The emphasis here is on homemade produce and simple recipes – bread, pickles and preserves are all made onsite.

This new brunch spot in Harrogate already has top marks from us for being dog friendly. Light, airy and friendly, there’s a good range of freshly baked goods here, as well as a menu of more substantial dishes. Owners Brigit and Tommy Souter run the kitchen and floor, so you know everything has been made with care, and every detail is carefully managed.

Emba
The newest venture from Liz Cottam, Emba is a classic gastro pub reimagined. A simple scandi-inspired interior pairs with an equally pared-back menu that’s refreshed weekly. The drinks aren’t an afterthought and they’re particularly passionate about their beers here.

Pizzeria at The Beach House
With every subsequent opening at wellness retreat Saltmoore, we fall more in love with the place, and the Pizzeria at The Beach House is no different. The View Restaurant
This new eatery inside The Delmont Hotel is a real hidden coastal treasure. Chef Chris Hobson cares intensely about championing local produce and that shines through on the menu. Think fresh mussels in a lemongrass broth, pan-fried lamb, and classic fish and chips, alongside lighter nibbles and lunch options.

The Highland Laddie
Younger brother of Leeds’ iconic Empire Café, The Highland Laddie is not what you’d expect. Looking every part the classic drinker’s pub inside (complete with dark wood furniture and a log burning fire), the menu here is surprisingly elevated without becoming inaccessible to the casual visitor, and has plenty of retro charm (lager with a half pint of prawns? Yes please).

Avocado Envy
A good option for the health-conscious bruncher, this new café offers a mix of favourite staples alongside more eclectic dishes – the courgette, mint and feta falafel is delicious. There’s a good range of smoothies and a few cheeky cocktails too (because mimosas at breakfast are a must).

The Swine Bistro
A new home, and new look, for the former Swine That Dines, this relaxing neighbourhood restaurant earned a spot in The Good Food Guide’s 100 Best Local Restaurants just months after opening. The menu remains reasonably priced without compromising on quality, and simplicity is the name of the game. Cornish sardines with hazelnuts and pesto, bavette with squash purée, and rabbit leg with green beans and bacon are all on offer.

Six and a Half
This restaurant takes things back to basics and lets guests really feel the heat – literally. Everything is cooked over an open wood fire and the chefs carefully match wood types to ingredients for the perfect smoky flavour profile. Tuck into grilled octopus with confit tomatoes, curried mutton with mint vinaigrette, and jerk cauliflower with cucumber ketchup.
