theantler.uk

With a focus on Persian and grilled cuisine, the Antler has made waves on the foodie scene in Sheffield in the short time since it opened. Sample small plates including stuffed vine leaves, padron peppers and spinach borani, followed by mains from the grill with a side of baked flatbread or jewelled saffron rice.

This award-winning boutique hotel is home to a Michelin-listed restaurant. Described as a ‘neighbourhood kitchen’, it’s a welcoming spot set in an Edwardian villa by the park offering a stylish dining experience. The menus here include breakfast, small plates and afternoon tea (as well as a great Sunday lunch), and a ‘little birdies’ menu ensures there’s something for the kids. If you’re a larger party, their special Brocco Banquet menu includes nibbles, starters, mains, sides and desserts, and is all served sharing style.

THE FURNACE

thefurnace.uk.com

Brunch, lunch, comfort food and cocktails are on offer at The Furnace, where industrial heritage meets modern design in the heart of the city of Sheffield. The outdoor terrace is a great spot for a summer lunch and it’s dog-friendly too. There’s plenty of Yorkshire produce on the varied menu here – don’t miss their hanging kebabs and burgers. This is a particularly good brunch spot (order the buttermilk fried chicken waffle and thank us later).

JÖRO
0.2–0.5 Krynkl, 294 Shalesmoor, Sheffield S3 8US
0114 299 1539
jororestaurant.co.uk

Michelin-listed Jöro takes a forward-thinking approach to modern dining. A simple but cool spot which sits in a stack of shipping containers, head here for British and Scandinavian-influenced tasting menus featuring unique flavour combinations (we love the sound of the BBQ hand-dived Orkney scallop in beef fat and scallop dashi).

MOWGLI
631 Ecclesall Road, Sheffield
S11 8PT
0114 266 0069
mowglistreetfood.com

Mowgli serves up Indian street food dishes that are packed with flavour, and their Sheffield outpost is no exception. Think gunpowder chicken, green ginger and rhubarb dahl and Goan fish curry. Their tiffin boxes form a food roulette – four tiers of meat, veg and carb chosen by the chef for you to sample.

PROOVE
261 Fulwood Road, Broomhill, Sheffield S10 3BD
0114 294 5185
proove.co.uk

Proove offer proper artisan pizzas, with sourdough bases, leopard-spotted crusts and authentic Italian toppings. Made with the freshest ingredients they come just like they do in Napoli – wood-fired and delicious. Sample the melanzane – San Marzano tomatoes, fior de latte mozzarella, fresh basil, fried aubergine and basil-infused olive oil. They do dolce pizzas here too, with sweet bases including Nutella or Biscoff, plus toppings ranging from banana to Kinder Bueno.

Try their bottomless brunch, which features everything from smashed avocado to fried chicken or bubble ’n’ squeak, alongside moreish sides of garlic and rosemary potatoes. They have a great cocktail menu too, with plenty of classics.
