If you’re a beer lover, Beverley is home to Atom, a two-floor tap room with delicious burgers from foodie partners Pattie Shack, and award-winning brews from coffee roasters The Blending Room. For bottomless brunch try Sleepers Café Bar, a stylish bistro by day and drinking lounge by night. The popular Westwood is something of an institution in the town, or for a taste of the East head to Ogino. For an elevated pub dinner experience with an emphasis on locally sourced produce, try the Michelin-starred Pipe and Glass, just a 10-minute drive from Beverley town centre.

The Beverley Arms is the perfect hotel to match Beverley’s historic market town vibe, and its position is perfect for walking straight out into the action. For fashionable self-catering, Aura Apartment is a quaint Grade-II listed building nestled in the town centre. Another traditional self-catered home, Beverley Minster House was awarded a five-star grading by Visit England for its beautiful renovation of a Grade-II listed Georgian town house. If you’re a B&B lover, then the Dog & Duck Inn is always available for those who appreciate a snug stay.

In Beverley’s town centre the busy Wednesday and even busier Saturday markets are famed for their friendly atmosphere and vibrant mix of artisan stalls – like fresh fruit and veg, baked goods, arts and crafts, boutique clothing, and a range of gift stalls. Also dotted around Beverley is a seemingly endless list of independent shops, such as Aura womenswear boutique, The Yorkshire Soap Company (selling the cutest hand soap sculptures and bath bombs), Browns of Beverley department store, Everything But The Dog pet accessories, and countless more.

St Mary’s Church is one of the most stunning churches in the country, yet alone Yorkshire. The Beverley Beck is a three-quarter-mile stretch of canal that ends at the River Hull, perfect for fishing, mooring, and a peaceful walk, whilst Beverley Westwood is an open green parkland perfect for picnicking. If you want to catch a show, there’s also East Riding Theatre which always has a good range of performances waiting to be seen.
