Get the adrenaline pumping with these outdoorsy activities

Whether you find fun in weekend-long festivals of trail running, Sea cliff climbing or downhill mountain bike racing, we have plenty to keep adventure seekers happy.

High Time

Sign up for one of the UK’s most picturesque ultra-marathons which starts at Blair Castle at the base of the Cairngorms on Saturday 3rd June. The weekend-long festival of trail running includes a 60km Full Tilt Ultra which takes you to the high summit of Ben Dearg. Back down in camp there’ll be live music, food, and films to help you recover.

On Your Bike

Well maybe not you, but at Red Bull Hardline you can watch the experts take on the world’s toughest downhill mountain bike race against the stunning backdrop of the green green hills of the Dyfi Valley, Wales. With huge jumps, lots of adrenaline and gut-wrenching features which litter the course, prepare to hike to get the best views.

Hanging About

Sea cliff climbing adds an extra element to rock routes and requires extra skills to keep you safe but once conquered, the rewards are immense (and so are the views).

Down Under

Yorkshire’s limestone-rich landscape makes it great for caving and with 2,500 caves including Gaping Gill and Long Churn (with its renowned narrow section the Cheese Press), there’s plenty to keep adventure seekers happy. Climb waterfalls, wade through pools, clamber over boulders and squeeze through tiny gaps as you travel back in geological time.
