SOUTH CAUSEY INN
In the heart of the Beamish Valley, this quirky inn has a unique converted, state-of-the-art 1960s fire engine bar with heated private booths for cocktails, home-distilled gins and snacks from the chef’s menu. With a generous covered area, and outdoor space for catching the rays, this is possibly the quirkiest outdoor cocktail bar in County Durham.

Soak up the sun at Skipton’s award-winning grand café, bar and terrace, Alexander’s. From their signature cocktails and fizz to craft beers and gins, there’s plenty of choice here. For those not drinking but still wanting to enjoy something refreshing, there are plenty of mocktails, with our personal favourite being the Sacha Summer.

DYLS CAFÉ BAR
There’s a fully covered, heated terrace at this family-run, contemporary riverside bar and café. Set in the iconic Motor House on Skeldergate Bridge overlooking the River Ouse and Clifford’s Tower, they serve a delicious food from breakfasts through to late-night nibbles, plus there’s a superb choice of cold drinks, artisan gins and bespoke cocktails.

Head here for cocktails and a light bite, and stay on to savour the atmosphere at Hull’s chicest rooftop bar.
