Staying in
September 2022
Reading time 2 Minutes

Kickstart your spooky season with the Hocus Pocus reboot, or if Halloween isn’t your thing, have a laugh with Taskmaster

Here are this week’s must-watch shows (autumn TV really is the best TV).

-Monday 26th September-

Inside Man, 9pm, BBC One

David Tennant returns to keep us glued to our TVs this week. This new drama follows the stories of complete strangers. In the US, a prisoner on death row is facing execution. On a train in England, a journalist is looking for a story. In a quiet little village, a vicar is picking up his son's maths tutor from the station. When these people’s lives intwine, it could lead one of them to murder.

-Tuesday 27th September-

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Netflix

A quite frankly disturbing watch as the nights grow darker. Evan Peters of American Horror Story fame is taking on another very dark role, and this time it’s notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. As you know, we love true crime, but we’ll give you fair warning: this show is likely to make you feel a little queasy.

-Wednesday 28th September-

Severance, Apple TV+

In this 2022 series, Mark leads a team of office workers whose memories have been surgically divided between their work and personal lives. But a mysterious colleague appears outside work, and they’re about to discover the truth about their jobs. With only four episodes to watch, you could binge-watch the whole show this week.

-Thursday 29th September-

Taskmaster, 9pm, Channel 4

We’re thrilled to see one of our favourite shows is back on TV, and even more thrilled to hear local lass Sarah Millican will be taking on the challenges. She’ll join four more contestants to compete in a series of bizarre challenges presented by Greg Davies, the taskmaster, and his assistant Alex Horne. It’s always a good laugh.

-Friday 30th September-

Hocus Pocus 2, Disney+

The highlight of our week by far, we’ve long anticipated the return of Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as The Sanderson sisters (and we really hope this lives up to our high expectations). In this reboot, three young women accidentally bring the sisters back to modern day Salem and must figure out how to stop them wreaking havoc on the world – again.

-Saturday 1st October-

Ninja Warrior UK, 5.30pm, ITV

Ben Shephard, Rochelle Humes and Chris Kamara are your hosts as more contenders take on this far-from-easy obstacle course. Hopefuls have to face the Elite Ninjas – a team of professional athletes determined to beat them in head-to-head races.

-Sunday 2nd October-

Frozen Planet II, 8pm, BBC One

Sir David Attenborough is exploring a planet on the brink of major change. Always insightful and often emotional, this show helps you discover more about the wildlife found in some of the coldest places in the world.

-Catch Up On-

Kleo, Netflix

With all episodes available to watch on Netflix, this is the perfect weekend binge-watch. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, a former East German spy is trying to find out who betrayed her and why, armed with lethal skills and a lust for revenge.
